Asian Youth Orchestra staging performances in Singapore and Vietnam

The Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO), supported by HKETO, staged four performances in Singapore and Hanoi, Vietnam on August 14-15 and August 17-18 respectively. AYO provided a six-week summer music program for advanced music students in the region. This year, more than one-third of the 100-plus members of AYO are young HK musicians selected through highly competitive auditions. They represent the finest musicians in Mainland China, Hong Kong and ASEAN countries. The Chief Secretary of Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, hosted a pre-show opening reception on August 17 in Hanoi for some 180 HKETO interlocutors there from the diplomat, business, arts and cultural sectors. Altogether, more than 330 HKETO guests had enjoyed the performances of AYO young musicians in both Hanoi and Singapore.<br>
