Chinese New Year Reception in Singapore
February 7, 2017
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore hosted a Chinese New Year Reception on February 7, 2017 to welcome the Year of the Rooster at Chijmes - a distinctive historical and well-restored building in Singapore.
It was a night of laughter and conversations for some 120 attending HKETO guests from the diplomatic, academic, business, alumni, media and Hong Kong community circles.
"Lo Hei", also known as Yusheng, is a Cantonese-style raw fish salad symbolising prosperity. By tossing the salad together, it implies ‘tossing up good fortune and abundance’ for all in the Year of the Rooster.
Spirits were high and gleeful during the reception as guests and friends engaged with one another throughout the night at the reception to celebrate the joyous occasion. It was a well-received networking platform for renewing friendship and establishing new contacts for all participants.
