Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam Christmas Dinner

Supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore (HKETOSIN), Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam held the annual Christmas dinner in Ho Chi Minh City.
In his speech, the Director of HKETOSIN, Mr Owin Fung, recapped about the fruitful results of the official visit of high-level government and business delegation, led by HKSAR Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, to Hanoi and HCMC of Vietnam this summer. Thirty memoranda of understandings or co-operation documents were signed between Vietnam and Hong Kong governments and business entities, covering a vast variety of industries and areas.
On visa arrangement, the HKSAR government has relaxed the criteria for Vietnamese nationals applying for multiple-entry visas to Hong Kong, either for travel or business last year. Further extension of their validity period from two to three years is announced in the Policy Address in October. Also, self-service immigration clearance will soon be provided for invited visitors from ASEAN countries including Vietnam for business, development and other activities.
The Vietnamese Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also visited Hong Kong in September to deliver a special address at the opening session of the annual Belt and Road Summit. In which, he outlined five key areas where Vietnam and Hong Kong could further strengthen cooperation, including finance, trade, hi-tech, culture, etc.
The dinner was attended by about 120 representatives from the business sector. The HKETOSIN also took the opportunity to play a video to showcase the ongoing PANDA GO! FEST HK exhibition which echoing the recent arrival of the two giant pandas at Hong Kong.
