Hong Kong Culturtainment Festival – Destiny The Musical (緣份)

We are delighted to have brought to the Singapore audience an evening filled with fabulous musical theatre dancing and singing performance by two theatrical talents from Hong Kong, Charles Teo and Leanne Jackson, in late October at Gateway Theatre.
Over 800 audience were taken on a 90-minute nostalgic journey through a medley of 40 classic Cantopop tunes of Hong Kong’s legendary icons Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui. Veteran performer Charles and theatrical talent Leanne, both graduates of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (香港演藝學院), captivated audience with their stellar vocals, mesmerising dance, and heartfelt stories of their passionate pursuit of the performing career which was inspired by their idols.
“Destiny The Musical” (緣份) was presented by Spring-Time Experimental Theatre (春天實驗劇團) and produced by Director Clifton Ko. The programme is also part of the line-up of the inaugural Hong Kong Culturtainment Festival (香港娛樂及演藝文化節), which comprises an assortment of 12 programmes ranging from concerts, drama, musicals to Cantonese opera and workshops featuring Hong Kong’s cultural uniqueness and performing talent.
On top of presenting the musical to the audience in Singapore, Director Ko also took the opportunity to conduct an one hour workshop for students in the media and performance programmes from Shelton College International to foster cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Singapore through the experience sharing and dialogue session.
