Summer Interns' Gathering in Singapore

On July 12, 20 Hong Kong university students under the ASEAN Internship Scheme for Hong Kong Higher Education Students gathered in our office to share their internship experiences in Singapore. Following a warm welcome speech by our Director, Mr Owin Fung, the interns were treated to a delightful array of food as they mingled with others and the ETO staff members. In a sharing session they also presented the takeaways from their different internship experiences in different sectors. The event wrapped up with an exclusive souvenir giveaway and team building activities that cemented their bonding.
First launched in 2014 and co-organised by the Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok Economic and Trade Offices (ETOs), the scheme seeks to broaden students' global perspectives, strengthen the people-to-people ties between Hong Kong and ASEAN countries, and groom a generation of culturally savvy leaders of tomorrow to benefit both Hong Kong and ASEAN as a whole. To date, over 900 students have participated in the scheme, working in three ETOs, overseas offices of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the APEC Secretariat, and various private companies in the fields of aviation, port, finance, law, education and MICE.
