My Beloved pop opera performances

Congratulations on the success of the two pop opera performances "My Beloved" at Victoria Theatre in Singapore over the last weekend, staged by Hong Kong's Bel Canto Singers and sponsored by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau.

Six Hong Kong lead singers, with the vocal and music ensembles comprising members from Hong Kong and Singapore, together impressed hundreds of local and foreign audiences with their voices and humour. The ingenious use of English scripts with a blend of Cantonese and Singaporean elements, further increased local audiences' level of resonance, enjoyment and appreciation. The tour was more than a showcase of the talent and diversity of the arts community of Hong Kong, but also an international cultural exchange journey between artists and audiences of the two places.

"My Beloved" was one of the ten Hong Kong arts projects selected and funded by the China National Arts Fund 2023, among 703 successful projects out of 9,017 formal applications from all over the country.
